BC283 brush shredder for skid loaders
The Brown Bear Brush Cutter BC283 is able to attach to skid, tractors or excavators to clear small trees and brush. The cutting teeth bite into the timber breaking into clean chips and resulting in a 1” minus clean mulch covering, thus reducing regrowth.
Brown Bear can custom design mounts for the BC283 cutter that allows installation to equipment with quick-attach systems and the capacity of hydraulic flow rates between 25-40 GPM and operating pressures up to 5000 psi. The BC283 is now able to adapt to an excavator mount, see the following photos. This allows the unit to work in areas generally inaccessible to wheeled vehicles, clear vegetation in ditches and along banks and slopes.
Flail cutters – that use sharp heat treated steel rotating cutters mounted on heat treated pins. These cutters can be sharpened and will last about 200-300 hours; dependant on the material being processed and avoiding hard rock or stone. The rotating flails work like a saw as opposed to other brands that use hammers. Replacing the flails take about 5 minutes each, the pins will last 3-4 sets of cutters. These cutters are recommended if a smaller end product is required.
Fixed carbide teeth – the spade teeth are 6cm wide overlapping each other it cuts smooth and even leaves the stumps smooth. These will cut grass and weeds as well as trees and shrub. Teeth last about 400 hours if not used on rock. Change time is very similar to the flail cutters.
All steel cutters can be provided if the unit is to be working in a lot of rock and stone. The expense of the steel teeth is considered comparable to the carbide coated teeth as the carbide coating will break off in rock and thus are replaced more often.
MODEL BC283 BRUSH CUTTER- EXCAVATOR MOUNTED
Brown Bear can custom design mounts for the BC283 cutter that allow for customer/dealer installation of excavator quick- attach systems for mounting on excavators with hydraulic flow rates of 25-40 GPM and operating pressures up to 5000 psi. Cut areas inaccessible to wheeled vehicles, clear vegetation in ditches and along banks and slopes.
BC285.5 BRUSH SHREDDER
FOR SKID LOADERS
• Universal skid loader hitch
• Fits most skid loaders with high flow hydraulics (requires 35-55 GPM at minimum of 3000 psi)
• Reduces trees and brush up to 6 inches in diameter to mulch
• Reduces tire punctures, leaves smooth stumps, not sharp stubs
• Discharges material down and under the machine with minimal unidirectional front discharge
• SAE standard parts, not metric
